Jim's Hand

 

 

 

Jim has a hand condition called Dupuytrens Contracture. The collagen builds up around the tendon causing it to contract. Luckily for Jim in the last two years a medication called Xilaflex has been used by injection to eliminate the collagen making it possible to straighten out the affected finger.  The next day the finger was almost as straight as the others. Yeah no surgery!

Borrego Springs

On our trip to Borrego Springs we stopped at Galleta Meadows. A private land owner has commissioned an artist to do these magnificent sculptures.

Good times with good friends

Meeting up with our Manson friends. We had a nice get together at Linette and Dallas's Yuma home along with Carol and Harvey and Frank. Thanks Linette for such a great meal!

Went to the coast, visited friends Chris and Ken at their San Clemente home. Walked to to pier for lunch.

We saw this pie going to another table as we were getting up to leave. Sat right back down and ordered one to share. OOOOh soooo goooood!

The beach is great even in the winter.

Agricultrural tour

 

We went with our good friends Carol and Ron over to El Central to the University of Ca. Desert Agricultural Center. The tour costs $15.00 per person. We took a hay ride out to the fields where they explained what and how the plant experiments worked . We got to picked as many vegetables as we could fit into the large plastic bags they provided. Unbelievable those vegies lasted us a month! Alot to be said for really fresh. We were given a lunch, a film and talk then an afternoon ice cream sundae. At the end gifts were given to the lucky ones with the correct numbers on their entry ticket. Great Day!

A workshop is when an artist gives a lesson to many painters at the same time. This was a 2 day workshop, with 17 painters.

Friends and Family

 

Long time friends Bibi and Paul drove over from the California coast. What a great weekend, playing games, riding bikes, taking walks, eating good food.

We were thrilled to have a visit from my son John and his boys. Adam is now 12 and Mason (the tall one) is 16.

One of the reasons we bought our lot was the extra RV space. We so enjoyed all our friends this season.

YUMA CHRISTMAS

Have a house the next thing you know up goes the tree (the thing I said I'd never do again).

And some people get all dressed up!

But the best part is good company and good food.

CHRISTMAS IN YUMA

We went to three parades this Christmas Season. The first in Algodonas.
 The second in Old Town Yuma.

The third in the Foothills of Yuma.

ALGODONAS MEXICO

Algodonas is a small Mexican town just 15 minutes outside of Yuma that really caters to the Americans. We love this town. If your looking for a Dentists, has to be a hundred of them, Pharmacies, several to choose from, Optical, on every corner,, Liquor stores, enough to keep us all happy, yes with free sample too. Food , well aside from the best shrimp tacos we have ever had we usually don't come away from any of the restaurants disappointed.
The town puts on a Welcome Back Snowbirds and a Farewell party that's so fun. All you can drink free, free food, entrainment, & gifts. We went to both of these this year with several of our good friends. Had the best time!
