UTAH & AZ

  Natural Bridges National Monument is located in the very southeast corner of UT, you must be going there it’s not really on the way to anyplace but well worth it. Unfortunately it only has a 12 site campground. But does have an overflow parking area a few miles away, which would fit any size RV, if the road to it isn’t washed out like it was for us. Luckily the road was ok for a little ways in. We just parked along the dirt road with five others.

The loop road is a 9 mile loop scenic road with many overlooks. There are several very good hikes.  Beautiful beautiful place.

The breathtaking ride down the Moki Dugway

is an experience not soon forgotten. Stunning views as it winds 1,200 feet  down to the Valley of the Gods. The Dugway- a three-mile graded and graveled section of Hwy 261 descends a steep slope of 11% from the mesa to the valley floor. Not advised for large RV or trailers. Valley of the Gods

The 17 mile loop is a graded gravel and clay surface road that has a few sharp turns and crosses several washes. It is OK for most passenger cars. We would do it again with the truck but not with the camper on again. But very glad we saw it!

The beautiful Cedar Mesa sandstone monoliths and pinnacles are like a miniature Monument Valley.

Gooseneck State Park, is out where the highways end. An astonishing view of the great Goosenecks of the San Juan River is spread at your feet. The river flows 1,000 feet below the overlook. It twists and turns through the meander flowing a distance of six miles while advancing only one and one-half miles west.

Driving down Oak Canyon from Flagstaff to Sedona is beautiful. The second picture is looking down from the mountain drive coming into Jerome from Prescott. Nice drive.

It’s been about 19 years since we have been to Jerome so thought it was time to see it once again. Enjoyed our time looking in their art galleries & specialty shops. This old mining town just hangs on the mountain.
