A picture to remember!

The unbelievable saga continues. The height of fashion. On the right foot is the oh so stunning large black boot to heal(some day)the pulled tendon. The left now sports a somewhat smaller version as it is so tired from supporting all the weight. The crutches to balance and relieve pressure and then the yes you spotted it. The sexy sports model WHEELCHAIR! It(along with Jim) get me to the pool. The summer of 2009 will be unforgettable!

Grandpa's Camp

We have a Grandma's camp each summer. All five grand kids come for one week. I plan craft projects and other activities to keep us busy. Well this year I am off my feet due to a pulled tendon. So not wanting to cancel , we changed it to Grandpa's week and he took over cooking , cleaning, and water activities. GO GRANDPA! It was a fun week, laying around on the couch, I got to play games and do some crafts which was a nice change from TV and reading. We sure enjoyed another great week with our grand kids.

Boomer Mini Rang In Manson

We found a place to seat eighteen people. The Apple Cup is an old time restaurant in Chelan, thats has specials four nights a week in the bar. Wednesday is steak night. For six dollars a dinner one can't expect too too much, but the company well made up for that.

The next day saw us touring the local wineries. We have about a dozen in the Chelan, Manson area. We really didn't, (couldn't) do that many!

Manson Mini Rang

The Boomer gals all decked out for our Mardi Gras Day! Margie, Patsy, Kay, Elinore, Jenny, Diane, Dianne and Diane.

We had a great Boomer Mini Rang in Manson Wa. We had collected so many beads last winter in Louisiana that we HAD to have a Mardi Gras Party! Jim organized the day. We had a fun bicycle parade with the neighbors decorating their wheels, some even went all out with wearing costumes.

Here's the Boomers having margaritas before the big meal. Jim had spent days making jambalaya and gumbo. It was a great success!!!!

Baker's Manson Visit

We had a great four days having Jim's son Jeff' & family visit, our daughter in law, Laura along with our two oldest granddaughters, Winnie and Abby. Each year we return it's hard to believe how much bigger the kids have grown. Height is especially amazing for me, only being five foot. This kids are over five inches taller than me! Wow I just didn't get the right vitamins or something.

Manson The Barry's visit

We were so thrilled to have Elinore and Dave stop by for the day. We had nice warm weather and clear skies, just the thing for showing off our area. We had a BBQ lunch in the shade. Then went in the pool for a swim. We followed this up with foo-foo drinks on the deck. And the Boomers that we are ,we found the best deal in town, one dollar chili dogs at the Apple Cup Restaurant. Do we know how to live or what!

Habitat for Humanity Yard Sale

This is my third year helping out at the twice yearly Habitat yard sale. A great bunch of women have been doing this for many years, I believe I heard this was the 25th yard sale. This sale they raised just over $5,ooo. and all the proceeds stay in Chelan county for Habitat houses. We collect and set up about 4 weeks before the sale. It is Hugh!
They day before the sale we get wild and crazy, dress up in whatever we can put together then go out to lunch. This is my sister-in-law Lila with me.
As you can see from the picture we make quite a sight at the restaurant.

Knapp Visit in Manson

Gretchen and Frank couldn't have timed it better. We were having an Oyster feed at the clubhouse poolside. These are our neighbors and volunteer shuckers. That's alot of work for those slimy(oh I mean delicious morsel's).We had a great feed. So glad our friends were here to enjoy with us.

This is one for the books, so I quess I have to have a picture of me in a wheelchair. Usually I use crutches but it was either drive me to the pool or the wheelchair. I just can't go that far on the crutches! Across the street and around the building. It's been two months now, ouch this is getting old.

Seattle Visit

It's been awhile since I've blogged. We arrived back to Seattle last month, visited with all our kids before heading over the mountains to our place in Manson Wa. We love our place and have such great neighbors, Jim and I both arrived back home injured, me on crutches and Jim with such pain in his shoulder he couldn't use his left arm for carrying. Some of our neighbors took one look at the pathetic sight of us trying to unload our trailer they took over unpacked the stuff and put in away. Wow!
