Greek Orthodox Monastery

This is a must when visiting the Florence area in AZ . We had a wonderful time wandering the grounds viewing the gardens and chapels. Jim’s brother Lynn and wife Lila were visiting with us for a week from Wa. state. The Monastery has a dress code, women must wear a head covering, long sleeves and long skirts. Men must wear long sleeves and long pants. All must wear closed toe shoes. A skirt and scarf will be provided if you don’t bring one. If you look closely you will see how BEAUTIFUL Lila and I look(LOL).

A Big River Reunion

A Reunion! My friends Nancy(center)and Carol and I worked together for almost 20 years. Nancy lives in Parker, Carol in Seattle so whenever possible we get together. As you can imagine, it’s gab, gab, gab! This year we were lucky enough to have 4 days to do what we do best, talk and eat.  

Oh and goofing around.

We had a huge storm come through, look what it brought to my friends backyard. It looked like a lake, oh but afterwards a delightful

rainbow.

I can’t forget the men, Tom, Jim and Charles, who make our lives so entertaining.

QUARTZITE AZ

Happy Hours and a Great Brunch at Boomerville. Boomers do know how to eat! Every year the Boomers have a 2 week rally in Quartzsite to coincide with the RV show which starts the 3rd week in Jan. each year. We have so many activities, you have to pick and chose as you can’t do them all. Hiking, walking, four wheeling,  beading, seminars on anything and everything. And much much more. Of course there is everything in town to see also.

contest, where men dress up like women for a fashion show contest. My Birthday usually falls around the RV show at Quartzsite. We were

lucky to have our very good friends Dianne and Frank share this night

with me. A nice meal by Jim, games and gifts rounded out this

day. And I must note the very funny Birthday card Frank picked out.

A VDL LUNCH

 

A VDL group got together for lunch. We had Frank, Susan, Heidi, Steve, Karen, Jim, Donna, Frank, Shirley and Wayne. Lots of fun catching

up. This is their 3rd lunch, our 1st but hopefully not the last. Each time someone new picks the restaurant. This pick was Donnas’ called

A Surprise visit in Green Valley

  What a nice surprise. Our friends Bill and Cheryl whom we met in Abbeville LA last year were coming to Green Valley to visit his brother. Well not being too far away we made arrangements to get together. His brother Paul and sister-in-law Mary Margaret had us over for a wonderful lunch. What’s better then seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

Casa Grande AZ

We arrived on the 2nd of Jan. to our lot in Casa Grande. We have owned it for 6years which we have been renting out. We'll be staying the next 3 months give or take a few short trips. This year it's just what I need to recuperate from tendinitis in both ankles. The weather has been fantastic and the sunsets spectacular.

NEW YEARS DAY WAS CELEBRATED BY AN EXCEPTIONALLY DELICIOUS BRUNCH.

WE BROUGHT THE NEW YEAR IN WITH A BON FIRE, SINGING, AND OF COURSE HUGS AND KISSES!

Typical Boomer Day

We started the morning with a caravan to the Graffiti field east of Bart. With only one minor detour we finally found it. After gazing upon the art work some went four wheeling while the rest of us went to the Imperial Date Farm for tamales and date shakes.

Ah food. Again!

Then of course Happy Hour is a must.

Christmas Day

Christmas afternoon was spent at our friends Dan and Jenny's home along with other good Boomer friends Jan and Chuck. We enjoyed a few games of Pegs & Jokers, then had our meal of ham, yams, potatoes, salad and dessert! We followed this up with a gift exchange which had us all laughing as we took away coveted gifts from one another. Thank you Dan and Jenny for having us over.

Christmas Morning in Yuma

The night before Christmas Santa was busy looking for the fireplace to scoot down to leave his gifts as we had been a good girl and boy all year long. He must have squeezed through the heat register as our stockings were full upon our waking! Christmas is magic at any age.
