This sidewalk has oyster shells in the mixture. They had also used this mixture in building houses then stucco over it.

Beautiful squares every few blocks. What a great designed town.

Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins

We very much enjoyed our visit to this museum although we did not allow enough time. We were there 2 hrs and only visited 2 out of the 4 hangers.

Plantation at Stone Mountain Ga

This plantation was set up for ghost storytelling later that evening.

There is a restored Plantation to tour. Main house, slave quarters, barn, farm yard, Dr's office, school house.

The lazer and fireworks show on Stone Mountain. This is a very entertaining 40 minute show on Sat. evenings

Jefferson Davis, Stonewall Jackson and Robert E Lee hero's of the Confederacy are carved into the side of the moutain.

This picture does not really do it justice or give a good indication of the size but it is larger than the carving at Mt. Rushmore

Up we went on the tram.

Alittle windy at the top, but you can walk all over the top of the mtn. and walk down which is what we did. The trail was 1.3 miles down and about the same back to where the attractions are.

FDR's bedroom. This is where he passed away.

A little bit of a surprise on the inside, as it was alot more rustic than we had thought it would be. Very casual.

We thouroughly enjoyed our visit to the Global village for Habitat for Humanity in Americus.

After a short film on the history of Habitat for Humanity you walk outside through an example of poverty housing .

Then the example of homes that Habitat has built around the world.

Habitat operates in more than 90 countries and has completed more than 225,000 houses.

Andersonville National Historic Site

Andersonville or Camp Sumter was one of the largest of many Confederate military prisons established during the Civil War. It was built in 1864. During the 14 months the prison existed, more than 45,000 Union soldiers were confined here. Almost 13,000 died from disease, poor sanitation, malnutrition, overcrowding, or exposure to the element
