Manson The Barry's visit

We were so thrilled to have Elinore and Dave stop by for the day. We had nice warm weather and clear skies, just the thing for showing off our area. We had a BBQ lunch in the shade. Then went in the pool for a swim. We followed this up with foo-foo drinks on the deck. And the Boomers that we are ,we found the best deal in town, one dollar chili dogs at the Apple Cup Restaurant. Do we know how to live or what!

Habitat for Humanity Yard Sale

This is my third year helping out at the twice yearly Habitat yard sale. A great bunch of women have been doing this for many years, I believe I heard this was the 25th yard sale. This sale they raised just over $5,ooo. and all the proceeds stay in Chelan county for Habitat houses. We collect and set up about 4 weeks before the sale. It is Hugh!
They day before the sale we get wild and crazy, dress up in whatever we can put together then go out to lunch. This is my sister-in-law Lila with me.
As you can see from the picture we make quite a sight at the restaurant.

Knapp Visit in Manson

Gretchen and Frank couldn't have timed it better. We were having an Oyster feed at the clubhouse poolside. These are our neighbors and volunteer shuckers. That's alot of work for those slimy(oh I mean delicious morsel's).We had a great feed. So glad our friends were here to enjoy with us.
We took Gretchen and Frank to a nice lookout point to show off our pretty area.
This is one for the books, so I quess I have to have a picture of me in a wheelchair. Usually I use crutches but it was either drive me to the pool or the wheelchair. I just can't go that far on the crutches! Across the street and around the building. It's been two months now, ouch this is getting old.

Seattle Visit

It's been awhile since I've blogged. We arrived back to Seattle last month, visited with all our kids before heading over the mountains to our place in Manson Wa. We love our place and have such great neighbors, Jim and I both arrived back home injured, me on crutches and Jim with such pain in his shoulder he couldn't use his left arm for carrying. Some of our neighbors took one look at the pathetic sight of us trying to unload our trailer they took over unpacked the stuff and put in away. Wow!

Mothers Day at the nursing home. We reserved the family table and had a cheesecake and strawberry dessert party. My sister and I brought our computers to show mom lots of pictures.
Mom's in a great nursing home. They are always having parties. Today was Cinco de mayo
day with music , nachos, margaritas then topped off with everyone taking a turn at the pinata!!!

Sacramento Ca

Here we are waiting to be seated at Jamie's Bar and Grill in Sacramento. Jim was watching the food network channel of Drive-In's, Diners and Dives which featured this local establishment. So of course being the connoisseurs of fine dining we gathered up family and friends and off we went to devourer garlic steak sandwiches. Featured in our food group are good friends Carol and Ron and my sister Evie and brother-in-law Dick.
I had pulled my achilles tendon a few weeks back and have been hobbling around, I looked so pitiful Carol being the excellent friend and neighbor shuttled me back and forth from her place to mine on her new toy! Thanks Carol!!!!!!!!!
We're so lucky to be a Boomer! Friends everywhere we go. This is a Mini Rang held at Laurie and Odel's who stay at CalExpo. Judy and Luke along with new Boomers Carol and Ron attended. I quess I should buy a tripod if I want to be in the pictures.

Diaz Lake Ca

We certainly enjoyed our stay at Lone Pine. Went to the Movie Museum, Manzanar Relocation Camp, enjoyed a game of Pegs and Jokers with fellow Boomers. Thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular scenery of the Sierra Nevada's, Mono Lake, & Lake Tahoe along Hwy 395 and 50. A fun overnight at the Nugget in Carson City, and who should pull in right before dinner, Mark and Kathy. We all enjoyed the Senior Special at the Nugget.

The Alabama Hills

This is a beautiful area just a short few miles out of Lone Pine. Other than just wonderful scenery it's claim to fame is all the movies that were made here. Many many Westerns were made here, starting in the 1920's. a lot of stars of silent film we had never heard of. When we names like Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry and Hopalong Cassidy, John Wayne came up we now could relate. Gunga Din was also made here.
We had a wonderful afternoon exploring the area with Kathy and Mark.

Boomers at Diaz Lake Ca

Kathy and Mark are Boomers we met a couple of years ago at Sidewinder RD in AZ. They were also traveling along HWY 395 coming a day later. What fun. We also learned and met Guy Gipson who had been camping there a week(sorry didn't get Guy's picture). That evening we had a nice Happy Hour.
Being a Boomer is great! As we were entering the campground Tom and Kay introduce themselves as Boomers and invite us to come visit after setting up. Great! New friends
