OVERNIGHT GUESTS

Our first overnight RV guests. Carol and Tom stopped over for a couple of nights on their way back home to WA.

Our second RV visitors. Sara and Bob, whom we ran into at the gas station in Gila Bend and invited over. We only saw them for a few hours last year so this was a fun surprise.

Ken and Chris were RV'ers, they were one of the first couples we met fultiming. They have hung up the RV life style but still get around. When Sara and Bob were here we called them and they drove right over from Oceanside. What a fun time!

The six of us love to try to get together. It's always a fun time.

Hope this posts. I spent a whole evening updating my blog this week and just discovered none of the pictures posted. I was working from Picasa which is the fasted but now I am trying to post from Blogger.

Fun at the BoomerRang

Dinner at Organ and Pipes in Mesa AZ. So very entertaining. We highly recommend a visit

Chuck and Jan at Goldfield Ghost Town in Apache Junction. It's free to walk through. It's gifts shops, food, ice cream and of course the old Western shoot out.

We just love Saguaro's. This one has 12 arms.

The Boomerrang

Pam and Steve Richey hosted a fantastic Boomer Rang at Lost Dutchman State Park at the base of Superstition Mountain. They planned a wonderful week for us. There were 12 rigs which to us is just the right size. It gives us a chance to get to know new people. The first evening Pam planned a Z circle which was a great way to kick off the week. There were hikes, geocache, four wheeling, star gazing, nightly fires, games and of course our goodbys pot luck. We had a great time!

I do have to mention the Rattlesnakes. We did see two of them. We have never been here this late in the season and these are the first we have ever seen. Above is Superstition Mountain at the sun is setting. Just beautiful.

Lost Dutchman State PK-Boomerrang

 

A photo-op on the way to Tortilla Flats. Tortilla Flat is the last remaining stage coach stop along the Apache Trail. It has been serving adventurous travelers for over 100 years with the best "Old West" stye restaurant along the Apache Trail. It is located 18 miles North-East of Apache Junction on Hwy 88 the historic Apache Trail.

New House

Well what can we say. The longer we were here the more we liked it. We are always out walking and riding our bikes and it is so very hard not to look at the homes for sale. We couldn't stop collecting the brochures, then one day we finally found the place that worked for us. So we bought it the 1st of March. We have a lot to do, to bad Home Depot doesn't have frequent flyer(buyer) programs. This is a very old single wide mobile home, but the space is adequate and paint and caulk do wonders!. We love the lot, patio and view of the mountains. We have lots of parking so we can keep our 5Th Wheel and camper on site.

We have been so busy cleaning and painting plus we want to keep up our social life's, we literally fall to sleep in front of the TV every night.

Nancy's house

Nancy, Carol and I worked together for many years. When Nancy and her husband retired they moved to Big River CA. which is on the border of AZ.
Carol and her husband Tom still live in WA., each year they take their RV to come south stopping to visit at Nancy's. If possible we try to be there too.
Over the last 8 years we have had several great get togethers. In this picture we were sitting down to a great turkey dinner Nancy made. It was like a holiday!

It was also Tom's 65th Birthday! We were pleased we could share it with him.

We always take a picture of the three of us together. Sometimes I think I'll compare to the past pictures. Then that thought just goes away. Do I really want to see evidence of aging? NO! We much prefer to think we look the same as 20 years ago. From left to right me, Nancy, Carol.

Roadside decor

We were heading East along Hwy 62 when we spotted this most interesting piece of Hwy art as we like to call it. There are thousands of shoes hung on a wire fence. How fun. I can just imagine what the first person who did this thinks when he or she drives by.

Family in Desert Hot Springs

Mason is our almost 16 year old grandson with our 2 year old great grandson Rayne.

This is our grandson Devin with his son Rayne our Great grandson.

And of course ME, the Great grandmother having a fun swim with Rayne.
He is the best baby, so happy. We had such a good time visiting with him.
